This one is very tough to call, however Cloud9 went through a roster change and they didn’t play that many matches with Slemmy yet, I also don’t think that it will work out for them, Slemmy is a decent in game leader but definitely not experienced enough to compete on the highest level of CS, so far it’s been working for them though, Cloud9 already beat teams like Optic, Echo Fox, SPLYCE and ex-Obey, all those matches were played online though.
CLG’s online results are that great but not bad either, however CLG are known for being a lan team, they always performed better on lan events and pulled off a lot of sick upsets, they also played together for a very long time and their last roster change was back in January when they decided to replace FNS with FugLy. The good thing about CLG is that they are good on basically any map, while Cloud9 have few maps they don’t really play that much like inferno for example, I’m pretty sure they don’t practice this one at all.
I think CLG should be slightly favored in this matchup and right now their odds are below 50% for whatever reason, I’d go with a low bet on CLG here.
My odds for this match: Cloud9 40:60 CLG
This is a really tough BO1. Online form recently definitely favors Cloud9, by a lot however this is LAN, and CLG are two worlds apart on LAN and online most of the time. CLG always seems to do well in these LAN BO1’s they always seem to upset, no matter what opposition it is. I do have C9 as the favorites to take this however. C9 obviously recently added Slemmy to the IGL role, and while I do think that if N0thing is just a fragger now, they need to replace him. N0thing eh, he doesn’t really impress me, he brings experience to the team however I am not sure if that grants a spot in the team for him right now. Not convinced on Slemmy either. however NA opposition, don’t really need high in-depth strats here. CLG online has been a joke, they nearly lost 2-0 to CoL, nearly lost to ex-Obey who just lost Slemmy 2-0, Got 2-0’d by Winterfox and Splyce, all this in less than a month, like…that is not appealing to the eye. Also, sadly JDM’s uncle has passed away recently, he made a Twitter post regarding and I am unsure how well this will affect his play, however he is instrumental to the CLG lineup and if he is not 100%, I doubt the team will and they will definitely struggle. Overall, not much to ramble on about here, 60-40 C9 for me here BO1 howecver, be careful.
3% C9 under 67%, otherwise 3% CLG.
My odds = 60-40 C9
My risk = High
My bet = 3% C9 under 67%< otherwise 3% CLG
My advice = Same as my bet
My odds for this match: Cloud9 60:40 CLG
Got a feeling that CLG will step it up this game and take it, but it’s going to be a close one. It could really go either way, and the map and sides, and whether the star players step it up, will play a huge role in what happens here. C9 have looked pretty decent since slemmy joined up with them, but they are still finding their feet, and they have looked shaky in places. Losing a map to NRG, being made to look average by LG, are not the best results for these guys. CLG had an impressive win against Liquid, and if you ignore their ESEA games, they have looked pretty decent recently. This game will be a close one like I said already, and you could argue about a bet on either side, I just believe the CLG boys will just edge it.
My odds for this match: Cloud9 50:50 CLG
