I’m still surprised on how much trust people put in North American teams, Cloud9 struggled against many weaker teams yet they have 30% against Luminosity on overpass, a map they barely won against compLexity which is the weakest team out of the “top” of North America. Luminosity on the other hand, are considered as the second or third best team in the world right now, they’ve been showing extremly impressive results on big lan events and won multiple maps against worlds best teams such as fnatic, ENVYUS, Astralis and Na`Vi, I’m also sure that Luminosity are in a great shape right now, the biggest CS:GO tournament ever starts in around 10 days and Luminosity surely practiced for this one.
Luminosity is my pick, overpass is one of their best maps and they are just better than Cloud9 right now, still, this is a best of one between two American teams, pretty risky.
My odds for this match: Cloud9 25:75 LG
I actually think c9 have a chance coming into this game. They feel like a side you never really know what you will get from them. They can beat anyone on their given day, and lose to anyone too. LG are of course heavy favourites, but C9 are no push overs on this map either. They may have beaten coL in OT, but this was a coL side that also smashed TSM on the same map. I know for a fact as well, that shroud has taken time off streaming to practice for these matches and work on things, and if LG are not feeling it tonight, and C9 can start strong, I feel like they have a small chance on the first map. With the odds being so high for LG in a BO1 on statistically, the most CT sided map around at the moment, I feel like a LOW/ICB on C9 is the safest option.
My odds for this match: Cloud9 35:65 LG
