So right off the bat two NA ‘giants’ fighting for some pride here. This is not the greatest of matches to bet on however it is what it is. Personally, for me this is a straight 50-50, however I could be biased given how Liquid are my favorite team. I feel like individually Liquid are the better team, however when it comes to leadership and what not, even though Slemmy has had about two weeks with the team, he seems to know what he is doing for the most part, except for vetoing, what on earth were they doing on the veto vs Fnatic, for my sake I hope that they screw up the vetos again versus Liquid. So of course, we saw Liquid choke away a 14:2 lead on Dust2, with them even being on T side, like you can’t even make the typical Liquid CT side excuse here, therefor it is quite hard to judge their performance, like ehm yeah they lost but 14:2 up, like they REALLY should be winning. Meanwhile C9 decides to play the best Inferno team in the world and ahm, I guess they did decent. Head to heads favor Cloud9 here, and I’d say form favors C9 too, however once again I think that individually Liquid are the better team, and if they can be firing on all cylinders here, I can very well see them taking this. I am sure most will favor C9 here slightly, however for me a coin flip here, 50-50, bet underdog.
My odds = 50-50
My risk = High
My bet = 3% Underdog
My advice = Same as my bet
My odds for this match: Cloud9 50:50 Liquid
Going to be a really interesting game, and one that could really go either way. It will come down to a few key rounds, pistols, maps, clutches, and that’s what makes this game interesting. I do fancy C9 just a tad as I feel the skill ceiling of a few of their players to be stronger, and I cannot see koosta managing to keep skadoodle quiet, as well as stewie, and if this happens, I feel like C9 will just have a little too much for the Liquid boys. Both sides showed good and bad things yesterday, and both will be hoping for better performances today. Slemmy really has to play better today, he was the sole reason they lost a bunch of rounds on Inferno, and if he had even played 10% better, they would have won against fnatic on Inferno, which tells you a lot. Overall, I do fancy C9 a tad, and around 55% for them, makes for a perfect bet as things stand. If Liquid are nearer 40%, then I would switch to them.
My odds for this match: Cloud9 55:45 Liquid
I freaking hate those 50-50 matches, and today we have another one, this time between two of the best North American teams, another annoying thing is that both teams had pretty similar results and it makes everything even harder.
Cloud9 did better against other North American teams, they beat NRG very convincingly despite dropping a map, the other two maps were very one sided, absolutely destroyed CLG 16-1 on cobblestone, played another match against CLG the day after and this one way much closer, Cloud9 took it 2-1 and the first map went into overtime, they also beat Splyce and Optic, but lost against Tempo Storm and got demolished by Luminosity.
Liquid’s results against North American teams are not that great, they got 2-0’d by CLG, dropped a map to Splyce and Selfless, lost 0-2 against Optic, 0-2 against Luminosity twice, 10-16 against Tempo Storm, struggled against TSM although they managed to win 2-1 in the end, also beat NRG and Selfles a couple of times. Liquid are quite inconsistent at the moment, but the match against NiP is the main reason I want to bet on them instead, they went 13-2 on the first half against one of the best European teams, still somehow lost the match but it was extremely close and that is what’s important.
Liquid have a good shot here and I believe they will take this match, but keep in mind that this match is basically a coin flip and either team can take it.
My odds for this match: Cloud9 50:49 Liquid
