This is also a really, really tough match. Right now form wise for the past two or so months, G2 has been better. G2 also looked better yesterday, even without the usual really high impact performances from ScreaM and Shox, in-fact Smithz was the one that stood out with the AWP lol, which is never good. Meanwhile Fnatic just looked lackluster and I am still not sure if they are fully recovered as a team after Olof had to take a break for his injury. The strange thing that I constantly keep having on the back of my mind is that historically, G2 like never makes it out of major groups, and meanwhile you have Fnatic out in groups of a major? Pretty tough one to see lol, but that is historically, gotta move on, hopefully. This is a match where I think it is literally who shows up, both of these teams can easily take a map from any team in the world, and most definitely between themselves. Will Olof and Flusha go off, or will ScreaM and Shox, can’t really tell. Overall, 51-49 G2.
3% G2 under 58%, otherwise 3% Fnatic
My odds = 51-49 G2
My risk = High
My bet = 3% G2 under 58%, otherwise 3% Fnatic
My advice = Same as my bet
My odds for this match: G2 51:49 Fnatic
This is an elimination match of Group B and it looks more like the grand final to me, except it’s a best of one and it’s actually sad that we will have to see one of those teams get knocked out so early. The odds are almost accurate, I don’t really understand why fnatic are the favorites here though, sure most of the matches between these two teams were extremely close but the most recent series went 2-0 in favor of Gamers2 with 16-2 on overpass and 16-13 on dust2, they also played better overall on ECS Season 1 Final and just in general.
Fnatic are not as dominant as they were few months back, they had a lot of shaky matches lately and almost lost a best of three against TSM, also barely beat Cloud9 and TSM on ECS Season 1 Fianls and dropped a couple of maps against FaZe on ELEAGUE, not the best results overall but they still managed to beat teams like mousesports, NiP, FaZe, dignitas and stuff, so fnatic are still extremely good.
Gamers2 struggled against Liquid on ECS, lost against NiP on ELEAGUE, and Gambit & mousesports on major qualifiers, other than that they constantly beat teams like NiP, fnatic and SK Gaming, not to mention that Gamers2 finished on the second place on ESL Pro League Finals and won ECS Season 1, they are also ranked as the second best team in the world right now.
So Gamers2 are just better than fnatic right now and they’ve been doing great lately, I’d slightly favor them here but not more than 55-45~, still either team can win here but I just feel like Gamers2 won’t go out in groups after their great performance on the previous events.
My odds for this match: G2 55:45 Fnatic
The main feeling I have here is I find it realllly hard to believe fnatic will go out in the groups. They have far too good a team for that to be so. Yes I know G2 have a good chance here, and have been in good form, but this is the major, G2 are a side that are highly inconsistent. They can be world beaters one game and really poor the next. D2 is a map that a lot of upsets happen on and the game yesterday was not the first time fnatic have lost an important game on D2. Going into this one, I can see a Cobble coming out, or perhaps a Train. Maps like these are ones they both enjoy. With the roster on the fnatic side, I really think they will step up today and take this game, but it could be a close one. Under 60%, I will for sure go on fnatic.
My odds for this match: G2 45:55 Fnatic
