Looking at the hours for the fnatic boys the last two weeks, it is actually really surprising how little they have played. Some of their guys have less than 10 hours played the last two weeks, and unless they have been playing on smurfs, it appears they have been having a few weeks off and have not prepared for this at all. Perhaps they expect to roll over Envy regardless. The French side, all have around 40 hours, which although is not a lot, is actually more than they sometimes have. These two sides have some what similar map pools which should make this one interesting.
Envy will for sure remove Overpass and fnatics default ban at recent events has been Nuke. I could then see Envy picking Cache or Cobble, as it is their most popular picks. Fnatic is harder to call, as they could pick the other one of these two maps, or throw a curve ball and pick a Train, which is a weak map for Envy or Mirage. Their map pool is so wide they can pick anything. The third map really could be any of what is left, that would be okay for both sides.
Overall this game for me is a 65-35/70-30 game at max, with fnatic and Envy both struggling. With how little hours fnatic has the past two weeks, and the odds being off at the moment on CSGL, I will for sure go LOW on Envy at these odds.
My odds for this match: EnVyUs 35:65 Fnatic
Really tough match to call here, well, kinda. Obviously Fnatic are favored to win here by quite a bit and should be winning, however there is things here that make it a even more difficult of a matchup. The thing is, Fnatic hasn’t necessarily looked horrible by any means, however they haven’t brought me the old ‘WOW’ factor that the old Fnatic always did and apparently they are linked with some roster changes so that is that. Their hours do not look the best at all, however they have been travelling quite a bit so who knows. The plus side for Fnatic is that they are facing off against Envyus who I am pretty positive they are making roster changes, the Devil addition did not change anything, if not make them worse and I expect more changes. Envy just are nothing like the old selves, however you can not forget the players in that team know how to play and you can never really count them out, but my hope levels are low. I expect Fnatic to win matches like this, however I am not sure in what condition and mindset they are going into this, it is E-League so I expect both teams to take it seriously. Overall, odds are tough for this but like a 70-30 perhaps here.
5% Fnatic under 77%, otherwise 2% Envy
My odds = 70-30 Fnatic
My risk = High
My bet =??5% Fnatic under 77%, otherwise 2% Envy
My advice = Same as my bet
My odds for this match: EnVyUs 30:70 Fnatic
This match is quite scary because of how little time these teams put into practice in the last two weeks, I’m really surprised seeing some of fnatic’ players on 10-20 hours as this is barely anything, luckily ENVYUS are not any better, three of their players played around 25 hours in the last two weeks so both teams didn’t practice all that much lately.
Fnatic are the clear favorites here, mostly because of ENVYUS’ massive slump, I mean it seems like they have delt with the slump already and they’re good, but they are still super inconsistent and looked very shaky in their recent matches, not like beating Virtus.pro, dignitas, Immortals and Gambit isn’t impressive, but ENVYUS also got wrecked by mousesports, Liquid, Gambit and NiP and fnatic are above these teams skill wise.
fnatic are usually very consistent but they also had few hiccups recently, they lost against FaZe in the group stage of ESL One Cologne and then got knocked out in the semi finals by Liquid, ECS Season 1 Finals was another shaky event for fnatic, they dropped a map against TSM and barely beat them 16-14 in the second match, struggled against Cloud9 but also eneded up winning 16-13, and then fnatic also got knocked out in semis, this time by Gamers2, so these are the shaky results, but other than that, fnatic destroyed FaZe, Gambit, dignitas, and beat G2, TSM and mousesports in closer matches, so they definitely looked better than ENVYUS overall.
Honestly, I was thinking about a small bet on ENVYUS, but then I realized fnatic used to be undefeated and DEVIL is still playing for ENVYUS, so yea, I don’t really feel confident betting on ENVYUS, I’d rather go with fnatic here.
My odds for this match: EnVyUs 30:70 Fnatic
