Gambit vs. VP at ELeague Predictions

Note: New predictions will have multiple recommendations and adapt to the odds coming through from lounge. For the best results, wait as late as possible to place your bet

These two teams played four maps against each other on ELEAGUE and Virtus.pro managed to win three, while Gambit upset them on nuke which is not surprising at all as VP didn’t practice nuke all that much. So the most annoying thing about this match is the fact that Gambit will be playing without spaze who was playing like a bot anyway, they will use DavCost instead and that’s a massive upgrade, he’s basically the complete opposite of spaze as his ratings are always very good and he’s just a great player overall.

Well, regardless of the stand ins I still think Virtus.pro should be able to beat them, they went 1-1 against Gambit and then destroyed them 2-0 in the following match with a quick 16-6 on both maps, so Virtus.pro is clearly a better team here, they also beat mousesports and Liquid on the recent major and also took a map off of SK Gaming, while Gambit beat CLG and Astralis but got demolished by Fnatic, so they basically beat two teams with stand ins and that’s it.

The odds are not that far from being accurate in my opinion, I’d say this match should be around 70-30 for Virtus.pro and I guess a medium bet on them wouldn’t hurt, but it’s VP after all, anything could happen.

My odds for this match: Gambit 30:70 VP

This is one that Virtus Pro should and will probably be winning. This is a LAN, an important LAN too as it is of course E-League, and like we saw at the major, you can never rely on VP, but you can never count them out. In this game I would not be surprised if they dropped to Gambit seeing VP’s struggles and the fact that Gambit notoriously are not bad on LAN at all themselves, however it will be tough, especially seeing how VP seems to be in good form and it is a BO3. Also, Gambit has a standin in DavCost here, and I do not know what to think. DavCost seems to be in good form right now, however that is not versus opposition like VP, and Spaze, he has potential and was really good before joining Gambit, however he never lived up to the hype I feel and his growth did slow down I feel. I mean, by no means is DavCost a bad addition here, just an interesting one. I do think that as long as VP are playing to their potential here somewhat, they should be taking this. A match like this should never be about Gambit just showing up a lot and destroying, no, VP has to underperform here. Overall, 70-30 VP

5% VP under 77%, otherwise 2% Gambit

My odds = 70-30 VP

My risk = High

My bet = 5% VP under 77%, otherwise 2% Gambit

My advice = Same as my bet

high risk

Looking at the maps for the Gambit game here and looking how Fside were so hungover from the Major, perhaps a bet on Gambit here wouldn’t be the worst. They should for sure get it to 3 maps, as VP does NOT play D2 at all and Gambit should take this one. I don’t see VP losing Mirage however. The few times I have seen Gambit on this map they looked far from good. The 3rd map being train makes the game some what interesting as it is a good map for both. It is of course a better map for VP, and this is a game that I do expect the Polish side to take, but with VP being this high odds, and knowing they just travelled from the major, I would just go really LOW on Gambit if you do wish to bet.

My odds for this match: Gambit 30:70 VP
