gBots is currently the best Spanish team playing in the professional CSGO scene at the moment. An upcoming event they’re going to attend is the ESL Barcelona Expo where many big names life EnvyUs, Astralias, Fnatic and G2 will be playing too. gBots qualified through the Spanish qualifier alongside X6tence. A lot will be on these guys since they’re defending their homeland and playing locally with these big teams coming in to play.
This league however is the AlienTech CSGO League and is more of the skill level of gBots. This is just the group stage (BO2 format) with the top 6 teams going to Portugal to fight for a slice of the $9,000 prize pool.
Because gBots is quite unknown/low skilled and also because the Spanish scene isn’t very developed, they aren’t featured on HLTV or the lounge very often. Late last year though they did play in an all Spanish league “LVP Season 9” and it was a pretty easy ride for them with X6tence being the only real threat to them.
NerdRage have had some mixed results, but what we can conclude from their recent results is that they aren’t close to T2 material as they’ve been beaten by YP, DenDD and E-frag in their past 3 matches but at the same time, they won against a handful of T3 teams like BX3 and Refuse in the past.
For a UK team, these guys aren’t too bad at all and up against a team like gBots and in a BO2, I believe that they do have the ability to at least take a map in this series.
Final thoughts and advice
I’m honestly not sure what to call this match. gBots are still the favorite in this situation I think and NerdRage haven’t been playing too well as of late but it is a BO2 so I think a bet on gBots wouldn’t be too bad but if the odds stay like they currently are (70-30) then screw it, don’t bother betting.
My odds for this match: gB 60:40 NR
