OG vs. Liquid at ESL Predictions

Hard to call game here. OpTic are one of those sides that can look really amazing one game in a series usually, and then really poor in another. Picking the right one is difficult. Judging from recent results, I would put the upset potential higher on the 2nd game. Liquid have a really good record on Cobble in recent times. Winning against CLG, TSM and NRG all really comfortably. OpTic have mixed results on it, but their overall win rate is really high. If you look at the level of opponents they beat though, they are pretty poor overall. They have smashed lower tier NA sides for the most part, which makes their win rate slightly misleading. This is a hard to call game that could potentially go either way, I just slightly give the edge to Liquid, because it is historically one of s1mples best maps, and he in a game like this could make all the difference.

This is the first match between these two teams tonight and it is on cobble.

I’ll keep it short because it starts quite soon.

I think that liquid have the edge going into cobble, it often turns into s1mples playground and i wouldnt be surprised to see him post 30+ kills here. They’ve beaten CLG TSM and NRG on their last 3 outings on this map and took LG to a 16-11 scoreline on it.

OpTic seem to be a bit hit and moss on cobble if not just in general, beating c9 one minute and losing 16-1 to Tempostorm the next. They can be a really good team on their day and there was talk of them being 2nd or 3rd best team in NA but they need to show me more to cement this in my mind.

I will bet small (5%) liquid if their odds stay below about 70% otherwise i will so with a small (3%) bet on OpTic.
