I’m usually the first person to skip VP’s matches, but I feel like they have a very good chance to win today, Gamers2 literally came back home today, they were in UK for ESL Pro League finals where they finished on the second place losing to Luminosity in the grand final. Gamers2 had a great run on that event, I honestly didn’t expect them to play so well but it seems like cutting Ex6TenZ worked out very well for them and it was really fun to watch them winning.
Virtus.pro is probably the most inconsistent team and they held that title for quite some time already, however, Virtus.pro have been doing better lately, recently they beat teams like fnatic, ENVYUS, Optic and NiP, also took two maps off of Tempo Storm on CEVO S9 Professional Finals.
This time we have an online series for ECS, Virtus.pro are doing fine so far in this league, they are currently on 5th place of the round robin with a 4-4 score, while Gamers2 are on the 8th place with two wins and three losses. Both teams are trying their best in this league, this is the biggest league in the history of CS:GO for those who don’t know, the prize pool is around $3,500,000 so that’s pretty big.
Gamers2 is clearly a better team here, however Virtus.pro had a lot of time to prepare for this match, they didn’t attend any lan events besides CEVO lately, and Gamers2 just came back from one, this match is basically 50-50 and VP can definitely take it.
My odds for this match: VP 50:50 G2
So before this match G2 plays a BO3 versus Fnatic, it is a good opportunity to watch that to see how G2 are performing, do not base your bet entirely off that, however adjust your odds to it. See if perhaps G2 is jet lagged from the LAN they just attended or have celebrated too much and are not feeling it, etc. Historically this year this is a matchup that has favored VP quite a bit, however since then things have obviously changed a bit, G2 even replacing a player and they are looking rather hot at the moment. VP on the otherside, they are seemingly improving however I would not say that we can say that they are out of their slump or anything as of yet, they still definitely have a lot to prove and at the moment, I would have to favor G2 a bit. I keep saying this with these slumping tier 1 teams is that they know how to play the game, they can show up at any time any moment, so do not count them out. 60-40 in favor of G2 for me here.
3% G2 under 67%, otherwise 3% VP
My odds = 60-40 G2
My risk = High
My bet = 3% G2 under 67%, otherwise 3% VP
My advice = Same as my bet
My odds for this match: VP 40:60 G2
G2 are in the form of their lives right now, shox and ScreaM are playing some of the best CS we have seen in a long long time. They have come together really well, and the only one who needs to step it up really is smithz. VP have been in a slump for a long time it seems and will be up against it here. They have been practicing A LOT but it remains to be seen how they will do today. I find this game hard to call, as I can see VP stepping it up and taking this, but the map pool will be working against them. VP will remove D2, and G2 Mirage. The I can see it being Train and Inferno. VP should take train, but G2 has a very good chance too. The G2 should take Inferno rather easily, then we should see Overpass and Cobble being removed, with the final map being Cache. There is also a small chance it will be Cobble. On both these maps, G2 have the edge ever slightly, and because of this, if G2 are under 63%, I would still go on them, below this, go REALLY low on VP.
My odds for this match: VP 40:60 G2
